How crowded is disney world during thanksgiving week
Help me decide which Disney trip!

Hi everyone. Trying to make a decision about vacation plans for this year. We’re a family of 4 (kids will be 14 & 11). Have been to Disney 5 times with our kids, so not every year but know the ropes. We’ve gone mostly in the summer…it is hot, but I honestly don’t mind it. Kids love the mix of park & pool.
Here are our options:
Option 1: Disney World for a week in July. We have free dining package booked, so somewhat affordable. Feels similar to past trips - we know what to expect (which is good). No festivals this time though. Don’t have to wait that long!
Option 2: Disney World over Thanksgiving. Would definitely be more expensive (we’re looking at $4Kish with no free dining and room more expensive). I’ve never seen Disney with Christmas decorations, so it is bucket list. Could do the Christmas party. Would be more crowded. Maybe too cool for the pool.
What would you do? For people who have been at TG - is it worth it or too crowded to enjoy? We’d get Genie+ and do $LL either way.

I’ve done Disneyland at Thanksgiving and it was a great and successful trip (minus seeing the fireworks
Not that crowded projected for Thanksgiving Week?

The TP projections were just redone based on wait times not being as overinflated as they used to be, and pulling closer to 1:1 on standby wait vs LL.

Awesome thanks! I get the explanation, makes perfect sense. I know things can obviously change, but looking like that might be the sweet spot for our trip!
I'm in Taxes, so Feb-April is out. Wife handles payroll, so January is out with end of year reports. Wanted to avoid summer heat, so it was looking like Fall/Winter. We didn't want to take our kid out of school for too long, so was looking at school holidays. So far I'm planning the trip as such:
Disney World: Stay on-site at Swan. Then it's either a 4 or 5 day ticket. Thinking one park per day, which an extra day to check out anything we might have missed or wanted to do again.
Universal: 3-Day Park ticket with Express. Pricing it out, it's cheaper for us to buy the express pass rather than stay on-site at one of the hotels that offers it (especially since we'd still n

Observed Crowd Levels November 19 – 25
Well, hello there, arrival of Thanksgiving week. What a beautiful array of colors! But here’s the thing, that week before Thanksgiving is basically never that uncrowded. A crowd level 1 day and three crowd level 2 days? That’s the stuff of early September, not late November. But then visitors arrived in force for Thanksgiving week. Typically, Monday has the highest crowds of the holiday week, so if 7 is where we peak overall, this is still going to be a

Tips for Thanksgiving at Disney World
If you’re visiting Walt Disney World for Thanksgiving 2025 and are looking for restaurant ideas, avoiding holiday crowds, etc., we’ve got you covered. Here we answer frequently asked questions, info, and tips for avoiding Thanksgiving week crowds.
For starters, if you just want general info about the month, from weather to crowds to promotions, read our November 2025 at Walt Disney World post instead of this one. It’s more generalized and covers everything happening during November, rather than just specialized info for Thanksgiving and the holiday week, itself.
Second, for those of you who proclaim “TURKEY BEFORE TREE” as a matter of principle, we have some bad news. Like the seasonal section of Target, Walt Disney World basically transitions from Halloween to Christmas without so much as an inflatable turkey to acknowledge Thanksgiving. Although Thanksgiving undoubtedly holds significance for many families, outside of Butterball and the NFL, it isn’t exactly a lucrative holiday for most businesses. Disney included.
Perhaps this is because no one has proposed an epic fireworks show with a turkey fly
