Reputation is everything new world

It’s not something that comes up in conversation on this blog very often, but I’m a bit of a swifty. Watching the Taylor Swift in the Reputation concert video is a happy place for me, I often watch it on my commute when I’ve had a challenging day, and the music forms a staple of my ‘get psyched’ mixes, along with a fair share of rock and big band music.

Now, for those of you who have yet to discover this particular joy, there is a speech she makes linked to why we worry about how we are perceived and the impact of having a ‘bad’ reputation that really lands with me:

“For example, having a bad reputation in our mind could get in the way of finding real friendship, real love, real acceptance, people you really fit in with because you think what if they have heard something about me that isn’t true, what if they’ve got these preconceived notions about me that they heard from gossip and then they never want to meet me and then we’ll never know what could’ve happened,” she continued. “And I think that’s why some of us…meaning if not most or all of us are sort of

New world quests not always giving reputation reward

Hello Blizzard or all who are interested. Just logged in to scan my map for new world quests and I’ve just noticed that a couple of the world quests (“Chew On This” - Isle of Dorn, “Beetle-Minded” - Azj-Kahet) have no faction name and the reputation is greyed out. However these world quests are fresh. I may have completed them before during previous appearances but there are plenty of other world quests that have appeared and the reputation reward resets too and I can re-earn it on a character.

Is this a bug? It certainly doesn’t seem to be right, my understanding that a world quest (or a specific instance of a world quest) can only grant the reputation reward once, however, if the quest then reappears the reward is refreshed, and this seems to be a little inconsistent.

Also of note is that the skyriding world quests (IIRC) were not rewarding the contract reward bonus either. There are a few “discrepancies” here that need to be looked at.

Rethinking reputation management in the age of AI

With consumers expecting more and more of brands they interact with, reputation management has become crucial for effective business strategy – but in the age of artificial intelligence, there are a number of fresh challenges to organisational reputations. Nick Gold, managing director of Speakers Corner, explains how firms can adapt to shape conversations around their business alongside new technologies.

Over the last couple of years, businesses have entered a whole new world where artificial intelligence can automate more of our manual tasks every day. That might sound intimidating, but it’s inescapable. So, as AI strips back our practical responsibilities, it’s your reputation that upholds your business and helps you stand out from the crowd.

As business leaders, we’re hyper aware of our reputation. A 2024 survey commissioned by Speakers Corner found that reputation management is a greater concern than falling profits, potential recession, and staff turnover for almost two-thirds of business owners.

The good news is that when everything else is out of your hands, your personality is the one thing you can control. That
