Prices for World Snooker Championship tickets skyrocket to £3,500 amid Ronnie O'Sullivan run, as bosses issue warning to fans about banned re-sale sites
Snooker bosses have issued a warning to fans after it emerged tickets for the World Championship final are being sold for as much as £3,500.
With Ronnie O’Sullivan closing in on a record eighth title, supporters are desperate for the chance to witness history at the Crucible on Monday night.
But interest in the Rocket has sent ticket prices skyrocketing on resale platforms, prompting organisers to remind fans they may be refused entry if they have bought their seat off an unauthorised site.
The most expensive tickets for Monday’s last session are going for £3,502 on StubHub and £3,187 on Viagogo. That is almost five times the face value of the top hospitality seats in the Century Club, which are priced at £710.
Even standard tickets are being flogged for an eye-watering £1,212 – more than eight times the face value of £145. The cheapest seats listed for Monday night’s session are as much as £555.
A World Snooker Tour spokesperson told Mail Sport: ‘Tickets are non-transferable and not for re-sale.

Only tickets acquired via the Crucible, See Tickets or World Snooker directly are valid for entry.
Tickets bought via unauthorised resellers is strictly prohibited and will be cancelled. These tickets will not be valid for entry and may not be refunded.
Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded after purchase, however the Crucible Box Office will try to resell a ticket at a charge.*
*All same priced seats must be sold out on a session before we can release returned tickets for re-sale.
In the event of a tournament being cancelled in its entirety, tickets will be refunded. This does not affect your statutory rights.
All tickets will bear the surname of the lead booker. This person must provide photo ID that matches the booking detail to gain entry. If you are purchasing these tickets as a gift, please enter the surname of the recipient when prompted online, and that person must provide photo ID fitting the surname on the ticket. You will not be permit
