Blizzard Shuts Down World of Warcraft Sex Guild


We had the same thing going on in Anarchy Online during the early days. Not just ERP, but also all-out prostitution, public strip-shows and whatnot. It doesn't suprise me even for even a microsecond that this case popped up for Blizzard and WoW either.

Hell, I know that this sort of thing is actually more common than most people, and ESPECIALLY parents, know. As an avid RP'er myself, I've seen it often enough. It's there, it's real, and it comes it pretty much every shape and form there is, from mere stripping/erotic dancing to scenarios where you have rape, BDSM and everything else. Just as in real life, and often just as disgusting if not worse. Most of it is hidden, but sometimes it comes out into the open and people are shocked, horrified and start blaming the game-company. Why?

I never thought WoW had any sexual content at all, but this music video from “The Guild” which is obviously about the lives of a bunch of WoW players, seems to imply there is sexual content. Are they referencing other games (say, something from Second Life) or are they making stuff up?

They purposely never show gameplay or identify the actual game they play, but everything about the series indicates it’s WoW or something very much like it.

There isn’t really any sex in WOW. You’ll have players doing sex chat, perhaps, and I guess you could position two characters in ways that would suggest there were having sex, but it’d be kludged together. The game as no built-in mechanic for anything sexual, not even implied - you can’t have tow characters be formally married or have babies, for example.

There are certain emotes in the game that could be view as sexual. I.E. /kiss /hug /lick there are probably others. If thats gets people off then thats cartoon porn or wow cartoon porn… even worse.

Why don’t we get a barber shop or atleast make it paid service? There is no harm to this. Blizzard please add Barber or paid gender change. I do not need race change, I need to change my hair or gender. Sometimes you get bored when playing female character and get bored with its animations so you go male vice versa.
