Me neither!
Hold onto your hat because I’m going to share 13 MIND BLOWING crochet world records. We’ve got the world’s longest scarf, the longest crochet marathon of all time and the largest crochet hook in the world just to name a few.
And finally, just to add in a little fun, I’m going to be attempting to break two crochet Guinness World Records here today….GAME ON!

The first world record that we are going to chat about is the Largest Display of Crochet Sculptures. This record was set on January 21, 2018 in Chennai, India.
A crochet group based in India set this new record with an incredible display of crochet sculptures. The group known as Mother India’s Crochet Queens achieved this accomplishment by creating an astounding 58,917 crochet pieces under the theme “Go Green, Save the Earth.” The collection portrays a range of imaginative scenes showcasing the journey of humanity and planet earth over time.

Athletes and fascinating individuals often hold numerous records around the world, and crocheters are no exception. It may sound weird or you may wonder why records like these are even broken, but these people are as talented, diligent and crafty. Today let’s learn about these great artists who are of great inspiration.
Longest crochet chain
Anne Vanier-Drüssel from France has crochet the world’s longest crochet chains that measure 130 kilometres. It was introduced and measured on 14 October 2009 at Aniane, France. Anne Vanier crochets the chain in 164 days.
Most people crocheting simultaneously
Most people crochet simultaneously are 604 at Tracey Franks (Australia), organised by The Singleton Crafters on 30 April 2017 in Singleton, New South Wales, Australia.
The record aimed to involve the larger Singleton community and encourage new people to participate in the crochet business.
