As the world falls down meaning

There's such a sad love
Deep in your eyes, a kind of pale jewel
Open and closed within your eyes
I'll place the sky in your eyes
There's such a fooled heart
Beating so fast in search of new dreams
A love that will last within your heart
I'll place the moon within your heart
As the pain sweeps through
Makes no sense for you
Every thrill he's caused
Wasn't too much fun at all
But I'll be there for you
As the world falls down
Falling
(As the world) Falling down
Falling in love
I'll paint you mornings of gold
I'll spin you Valentine evenings
Though we're strangers till love
We're choosing a path between the stars
I'll leave my love between the stars
As the pain sweeps through
Makes no sense for you
Every thrill he's caused
Wasn't too much fun at all
But I'll be there for you
As the world falls down
Falling
(As the world) Falling down
Falling
As the world falls down
Falling
Falling
Falling
Falling in love
As the world falls down
(Down) Falling
Falling
Falling
Falling in love
As the world falls down
Falling
Falling
Falling
Makes no sense at all
Makes no sense to fall
Falling
As the world falls down
Falling
Fall

There’s such a sad love

Deep in your eyes.

A kind of pale jewel

Open and closed

Within your eyes.

I’ll place the sky

Within your eyes.

There’s such a fooled heart

Beatin’ so fast

In search of new dreams.

A love that will last

Within your heart.

I’ll place the moon

Within your heart.

As the pain sweeps through,

Makes no sense for you.

Every thrill is gone.

Wasn’t too much fun at all,

But I’ll be there for you-ou-ou

As the world falls down

Welcome to the world of Labyrinth. Now, Labyrinth is one of my favorite movies. I adore it. I have not looked at anything related to it in at least six months, and two of the song scenes popped up on my Youtube Recommended list in the last hour. I felt like I was being poked, so you guys get David Bowie today instead of what was planned.

This scene is one of my favorites in the movie, and I’m going to take it partially out of context for you (only partially, because it was where the script was going anyways and then it was just kinda forced not to…) today. Another note, this is one of the songs this screams Godspouse to me, so that’s where this

The ballad ‘As The World Falls Down’ was written by David Bowie for the soundtrack of the 1986 film
Labyrinth
.

The song was written for a dream sequence in which Jareth the Goblin King, played by Bowie, dances with Sarah Williams (Jennifer Connelly) at a masquerade ball.

I wrote ‘As The World Falls Down’ for the ballroom scene. Jim [Henson] wanted something which was fairly old-fashioned in its sentiments and it is, for me, the prettiest tune in the movie, and the most relaxed.

Robbie Buchanan played keyboards and was responsible for programming and production on the song.

I loved doing ‘As The World Falls Down’; it’s a magical song that’s really far out and spacey, it’s so Bowie. It starts off real innocent. They gave me the song and I came up with an intro. That was d
