Rc10 worlds car

Project: Team Associated RC10

My first 2WD racing buggy was a Team Associated TQ10 with a graphite chassis plate. This was an awesome car, what I really loved. I made some little changes on the chassis to fit my saddle pack batteries and to improve other things - long shocks at the front for example - what was pretty popular back in the days. I drove many races with it with some good results. The results was so good, that I became Kyosho team driver for the next seasons, where I had the painful chance to drive the Kyosho Triumph and the Lazer. Especially the Triumph was terrible to drive on dirt tracks. While all the RC10 drivers drove circles around me, I was fighting to keep that car together. And I wished my RC10 back so hard. Ha!

Anyway, I started restoration of RC10´s many years ago, when the word vintage was not as popular as today. I restored a fleet of many different RC10 cars. But this project is the Neo Vintage thing.

The RC10 Worlds Car - with a little different touch.

We come later to the details. Enjoy the pictures!

TEAM ASSOCIATED RC10 TEAM CAR GOLD EDITION KIT

TEAM ASSOCIATED RC10 TEAM CAR GOLD EDITION KIT

Be Part Of The Team!

Originally released back in 1990, the RC10 Team Car was an upgraded version of the base model RC10 Championship Edition (6011), which was also released that same year. The RC10 Team Car was the latest state-of-the-art, 2WD off-road racing buggy in the world and was the first RC10 to feature the, Stealth ATC Transmission, hard anodized shocks with PTFE coating, and updated suspension geometry.

At the 1990 Off-Road ROAR Nationals, Team Associated finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd using these new parts. Cliff Lett took first place at the Nationals, which didn’t surprise anyone, but the big surprise was Brent Wallace and J.D. Beckwith, both who finished 2nd and 3rd at the very first race using the new Stealth transmission! There were many similar reports of equal success from racers all around the world after using the Stealth transmission in their older RC10’s. Later, some of these parts would eventually be included in the RC10 Team Car kit.

The original RC10 is credited with launching off-road racing to the forefront of the RC world, and introducing more hobbyists into the realm of competition than any other vehicle before or since. After setting the world on fire with the gold-tub RC10, the iterations that followed helped shape the future of car designs across the entire industry. After the first RC10’s initial splash in 1984, a graphite version with longer front arms followed in 1989, but the metal chassis made a return along with a host of upgraded parts (including the extended front arms) for the RC10 Championship Edition in 1990. The CE was updated with a new 2.25:1 transmission in 1992 to create the Team Car, and that kit carried the team through the 1993 season in which ’92 National Champ Brian Kinwald won his first IFMAR World Championship and the fourth for the RC10 family. To commemorate that win, Team Associated released the heralded RC10 Worlds Car with Brian’s paintjob on the box, and it was the last RC10 with an aluminum chassis until this
