That the World May Know
When Yeshua (Jesus) prayed to the Father about the oneness of the Body of Christ, He said, “That they may all be one … so that the world may know that You sent Me” (John 17:21, 23).[1] What Yeshua says is important. So if we turn that statement around and put it in the negative, is it possible to say that the world will never believe unless we are one? If that is the case, we must do something about it.
Sometimes our message to the world seems like a joke to them because they look at the Church and do not see the truth of what we are preaching. Some say, “You can’t even get along with each other. Why would I want to join that?” They have a good point, but God has given the Holy Spirit to help us. Yeshua said, “The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me” (John 17:22–23). I want the world to know that the Father sent Yeshua, but I have to ask myself, “Do I want them to know it badly enough that I’m willing to be one with my brother?” It requires something from us.

That the World May Know #1: Promised Land (Digital)
This five-session small group Bible study (guide sold separately) by noted teacher and historian, Ray Vander Laan, is volume one of the 12-part Faith Lessons series. Vander Laan illustrates how God guided his people to a specific place - the Promised Land - to impact the world both in ancient times and today. Just like the time and place of our birth shapes our journey, so the land and culture of the Hebrew people shaped their story. Promised Land provides wonderful context to the stories of that time.
Faith Lessons is a unique video series that brings God's Word to life with astounding relevance. By weaving together the Bible's fascinating historical, cultural, religious, and geographical contexts, teacher and historian Ray Vander Laan reveals unique insights into the Scriptures' significance for modern believers.
Filmed on location in Israel, these illuminating "faith lessons" afford a new understanding of the Bible that will ground your convictions and transform your life. The Faith Lessons video series is ideal for use in small groups, personal and family Bible studies, and adult Sunday school. Individual believers and f
What I didn’t learn in Sunday School
I grew up in church, but I learned very little about the Bible during those early years. My Sunday school teacher was awesome. I enjoyed the lessons and learned Scripture verses. And while I could tell you that David toppled Goliath, and Sarah laughed when she was told she was going to have a child, I didn’t understand how the Bible was put together as one cohesive story.
I discovered my lack of understanding one year after I was married. John and I signed up for Bible school classes, and before the class started we took a quiz to see how much we knew. I discovered it was

. I couldn’t tell you if David lived before Abraham or vice versa. During the months of Bible classes I learned so much. I understood the Bible more, and I fell in love with God more, too. I craved spending time in God’s Word.
To understand Bible you need to read the Bible.
You also need to understand how the parts make the whole, and sometimes this means turning to wise people for help.

Here’s what Ray has to say about the Follow the Rabbi tours and Todd as a trip leader:
“As an author, Bible teacher, and study tour leader, I have had the privilege of walking the lands of the Bible with thousands of Jesus’ followers. As they learned about the land, the people, and the culture of the Bible, these believers discovered that the context God chose for his redemptive plan could help them live the Text in their own lives. They not only had faith in Jesus but a fres
