(Now, just between you and me, I made sure to choose one of the most innocuous enemies I could, from an extremely family-friendly game. We need to make a good first impression! Anyway, on with the post!)



We all know and love Burt the Bashful, he is such a silly guy! A round guy with a big ol’ nose and funny striped pants. That’s our Burt! The poor guy is shy, though, so let’s give him his space. He is sheepish. Burt the Baaashful!

Thank you, ma’am. Where was I? I wonder if people are tired of big Burts as Yoshi bosses. They sure do appear often! I think it’s good, because they are funny, but maybe there are some no-nonsense Yoshi fans out there who sigh and roll their eyes upon seeing the goofball pictured above. Oh well. Too bad.

Hello! Welcome to “posts”. In today’s installment (of “posts”, in case you forgot), I bring to you whatever the hell this purple thing is. Yeah!!!

I am confident in saying that the vast majority of you reading this post have never once seen King Edward. I even forgot about him for quite some time! There’s not much to him as a character, and not much to his design, to be honest, but what IS there charms me with how odd it is. Anyway, I am a real one. I was there for King Edward at the very beginning. This past July marked the ten year anniversary of Vault!’s release, in fact!

You still don’t know what Vault! is, do you? Maybe it’s not even a game. Maybe it’s a banking app named after a safe deposit vault, and King Edward is the mascot, who isn’t really attracting any new users, but his dad is the boss of the company, so no one wants to fire him.

In this video we take a look at
Yoshi’s Crafted World
[PEGI 3]. The game has some accessibility features which could make the game more accessible to a wider range of players.

The game also features a two-player option which means you and a friend can play as two Yoshis and work together to solve the puzzles on each level. Before starting the game, you are presented with the option of choosing Mellow Mode or Classic Mode. For both options the levels are identical.


Mellow Mode


Mellow Mode gives Yoshi wings which enables you to continuously fly throughout the level making it a slightly easier, more relaxed experience. Eating Shy Guys gives you two eggs instead of one and you also take less damage from any enemy. In Mellow Mode there’s a smiley indicator that will flash and rumble slightly to let you know when you’re near one of the smiley flowers which are some of the collectables within the game. Mellow Mode also enables invisible question mark clouds to become visible. An aspect of the accessibility options is that you can turn Mellow Mode on or off at any point in time even within the level itself by pausing the game and changing the play style to

Remember the joke of Yoshi Tax Fraud? That was really funny as a single Tumblr post! And then not funny at all as a meme. And then kind of funny again when Suppermariobroth unearthed that Yoshi tries to sweettalk people into tax breaks in Fortune Street!

But that is all old news. Let’s talk about Yoshi’s real, canon crimes! Yoshi has performed a museum heist. Isn’t that great?
